Digital visiting card
The card people in India, Pakistan and the Gulf are asking for, on a link instead of card stock.
A digital visiting card is your visiting card on a web link rather than on card stock. It sits at your own address, opens in any phone browser with no app, saves to their contacts in one tap, and updates whenever you edit it.
Why the digital one caught on here first
Cards get handed over constantly, a number changes, and the box of paper in the drawer is wrong from that day on. A card on a link has no such day: you edit it, and every code and link you have ever given out points at the new details.
It is shared the way people already share things. Send the link in a chat. Show the QR code and let their camera do the rest. Put the code on the paper card you are printing anyway.
The person receiving it installs nothing and signs up for nothing. They tap once and your details are in their phone, spelled the way you spelled them.

How to make a digital visiting card
Take your address
Pick the name your card will live under. That link is yours and does not change when your details do.
Add your details
Name, role, company, photo, and the buttons people should press: call, message, email, website.
Publish
Publishing makes it live and draws its QR code. Until then nobody can open it.
Put the code on paper
Design a printed visiting card in the free maker with the code on it, so the paper and the link are one thing.
Questions about digital visiting cards
How do I make a digital visiting card?
Create an account, choose the name your card lives under, fill in your details and press Publish. The link and the QR code are ready straight away.
Is it free?
One card on your own link is free for as long as you like. It carries a small line naming the site; a paid plan removes that line and adds the rest.
Will it work on an ordinary phone with no app?
Yes. It is a web page, so it opens in whatever browser the phone already has, and it works on an iPhone and on Android the same way.
Can I still have printed visiting cards?
Of course, and they go together. The free maker designs the printed card, and the QR code on it opens the digital one.
Can I share it on WhatsApp?
Yes. It is a link, so it sends like any other link and opens straight into the card rather than into a download.
