Business cards: design yours free, print it anywhere
One page for the whole question, and a door to each answer.
Business cards are the small printed cards you hand over when you meet someone. Design yours here for nothing, download a print-ready file for any print shop, and carry a digital business card on your own link that updates itself on their phone.
What a business card has to do
A card has one job: to be kept. It has to say who you are and how to reach you clearly enough that somebody who met you for two minutes can find you again a month later.
Everything else is a choice. Paper or a link. One design or a template you change. Printed by a shop or printed on your own printer. This page lays the choices out and sends you to the one you want.
What does not change is the words on it. Your name, what you do, the company, and the two or three ways you want to be reached. A card with six phone numbers on it is harder to use than a card with one.
The three ways to get one
Each one is free to start, and none of them needs design software.

How to make a business card

Your name, what you do, the company, and the two or three ways you want people to reach you.
Pick a design
Choose one of the templates, then its colours and its lettering. The card on screen follows every pick.
Choose the size
3.5 by 2 inches, 85 by 55 mm, 90 by 54 mm or 91 by 55 mm, whichever your country and your printer use.
Download and print

Questions about business cards
Is the business card maker really free?
Yes. Designing a card and downloading the print file cost nothing, there is no sign-up and there is no watermark on the file you download.
What size should a business card be?
3.5 by 2 inches in the United States, Canada and much of India; 85 by 55 mm in the United Kingdom, Europe and the Gulf; 90 by 54 mm across India and Pakistan; 91 by 55 mm in Japan. All four are in the maker.
What file does a print shop want?
A PDF at 300 DPI with a 3 mm bleed and crop marks, which is exactly what the maker downloads. Hand that file over and there is nothing to explain.
Do I need a digital card as well as a printed one?
You do not, but they work together. The printed card can carry a QR code that opens the digital one, so the person who kept your paper card can still reach the details you changed last week.
Can I print business cards at home?
Yes. The maker exports a sheet with ten cards laid out on one A4 or US Letter page with cut lines, for ordinary card stock in a home or office printer.
