Cheap business card: the honest answer

What costs money, what does not, and where the money actually goes.

The cheapest business card is the one you design here and download yourself: nothing to pay, no watermark, print-ready at 300 DPI. A digital business card is free to keep as well, and it never runs out the way a box of paper does.

In plain words

Where the money goes on a printed card

Three things are paid for when you buy printed cards: the design, the paper and the printing, and the delivery. Only the last two have to cost anything, and the design is the part most sites charge for.

Here the design costs nothing. You type your details, pick a template, and download a print-ready PDF with a bleed and crop marks. There is no account to make, no watermark on the file, and no upgrade needed to download it.

That leaves the printing. Take the file to a print shop and pay for paper and ink alone, or print ten cards on one page at home and pay for a sheet of card stock.

And the part nobody prices: a printed card is wrong the day a number changes. A card on a link is edited once and every copy already handed out points at the new details, which is why the cheapest card over a year is usually not paper at all.

How to get business cards as cheaply as possible

Step 01

Design it for nothing

Use the free maker. No account, no watermark, and the download is the real print file.

Step 02

Print ten at a time

Take the A4 or US Letter sheet, run it on card stock in your own printer and cut along the lines.

Step 03

Only print what you need

Print a sheet when you are going somewhere. Ten good cards beat five hundred with the wrong number on them.

Step 04

Put a code on the card

A QR code turns cheap paper into something that always points at your current details, however old the card is.

Clear answers

Questions about cheap business cards

What is the cheapest way to get business cards?

Design one free here, download the sheet with ten cards on a page, and print it on card stock at home. Beyond the paper and the ink it costs nothing.

Is there a catch to the free download?

No. There is no account, no watermark and no cut-down file. The PDF is 300 DPI with a 3 mm bleed and crop marks, which is what a print shop asks for.

Are cheap printed cards worth it?

Paper is cheap; being out of date is what costs. If your number or your job changes often, put a QR code on the cheap card so the details behind it can be corrected without reprinting.

How much is the digital card?

One card on your own link is free for as long as you like. The paid plan's price is shown above as a monthly figure; the checkout shows the exact amount charged before you pay.

Do you print cards for me?

The design and the print files are what this site gives you for nothing, and they work at any print shop. Where our own print shop takes orders, the price is shown for your own country before you buy anything.
