Add your background in Microsoft Teams

All plans

There is no Teams button, but the same picture works in Teams: download it with a top corner chosen, then add it in Teams as a new background.

In your dashboard: Your Card > Backgrounds > the Download for Zoom button

Last updated

The screen makes files for Zoom and Google Meet. Teams takes the same kind of picture, 1920 by 1080 pixels, so either file works.

  1. On Backgrounds, pick a top corner under QR Code Position: Top Right (Recommended) or Top Left. Both downloads draw a top corner in exactly the same place.

  2. Press Download for Zoom.

  3. In Teams, open the video effects for your camera, before you join a meeting or during one, and choose to add a new background.

  4. Pick the PNG file you downloaded.

  5. Look at Teams' own preview before you join, to check the code is clear of you and of the edges.

Teams moves these menus from time to time; Microsoft's own help has the current steps.

Good to know

Your own view may be mirrored, so the code looks back to front to you. Everybody else sees it the right way round. See Can people scan my QR code during a call?.
