Can people scan my QR code during a call?
All plansYes, when your video is big enough on their screen: they point their phone's camera at their own screen, and your card opens on their phone.
In your dashboard: Your Card > Backgrounds > Top Right (Recommended)
Last updated
The code on your background is a real QR code for your tracked link. Someone on the call points their phone at their computer screen, the phone reads the code, and your card opens on it.
What helps
- Size. On the 1920-pixel-wide picture the code is 152 pixels across, so it reads best when your video fills much of their screen: while you are speaking, or when they pin your video. In a small tile it may be too small to read.
- A top corner. Top Right (Recommended) keeps the code clear of the controls at the bottom and of you. Tick Show Safe Zone Guides to check.
- A steady picture. The code is drawn dark on a white square, which a phone's camera reads best.
- Saying so. Tell people the code is there and that it opens your card.
Why the code looks back to front to me
Many video apps show your own video as a mirror image, so the code looks back to front to you. The others on the call see it the right way round, and it scans for them. In Zoom, you can untick Mirror my video to see it as they do.
Every scan is counted on Links & QR, on your background's link. See What counts as a scan?.
