My QR code won't scan

All plans

Check the card it opens is published, print the code dark on white and big enough with a clear margin, and use the SVG file for print.

In your dashboard: People > Links & QR > Active QR Codes & Tracking Links

Scan the code with your own phone's camera first. If your phone opens the link but the page is empty, the code is fine and the card is not: see My address shows nothing.

If the camera does not read it

  • Keep it dark on white. The codes on Home and Links & QR are drawn that way because phone cameras read it best. A pale colour, or a code placed over a photo, is hard to read.
  • Make it big enough. On a printed card, keep the code at least 2 cm across, with a clear white margin all around it.
  • For print, use SVG from Links & QR, which stays sharp at any size, or PNG, a picture 1,024 pixels across. The small picture from Download QR on Home is meant for screens.
  • On a screen, turn the brightness up and hold the phone still, a little further away.
Good to know

If you coloured or resized the code on Print Design, check its colours there. See Putting a QR code on the back.

If you deleted a tracked link, its code still opens your card, so a printed code never stops working. See Deleting a link.
