Notifications and automations for your card

Write to the people who kept your card, or let a message go by itself at the right moment.

Notifications are short messages from you that appear on the phones of people who kept your business card or saved your wallet pass. Automations send them on their own: a thank-you when somebody keeps your card, a follow-up series, a date you pick, and holiday greetings.

Choose who hears from you, write it, and see it on a lock screen first.
In plain words

What are card notifications and automations?

A notification is one short message, a title and a line or two, that appears on somebody's phone the way a message from any other app does. It reaches two kinds of people: those who kept your business card on their home screen and said yes to updates, and those who saved your pass in their phone's wallet.

You write them from your dashboard. Choose who hears from you, write the words, look at the message on a phone before it goes, and send. Each message to each person uses one credit: Pro gives you twenty every month, and a credit pack adds more that never expire.

Automations are the messages you would send if you remembered every time. Each one is written in your name and waits, switched off, until you have read it. Once you switch it on it goes by itself: to thank a person for keeping your card, to follow up after you meet, on a date you choose, on the holidays you pick, or after a quiet spell.

Where your messages land

A notification goes to a phone, never to an inbox. The same credits cover the card on the home screen and the pass in the wallet, and tapping a message opens your card.

On the phone

  • The lock screen of an iPhone
  • Android notifications
  • The pass in the phone's wallet

Who can receive them

  • One person
  • Everybody who came from one QR code
  • Everybody who kept your card
  • Everybody holding your wallet pass
What it does for you

What notifications and automations do for you

Choose who hears from you, write it, and see it on a lock screen first.

Write to the people who kept your card

Pick who hears from you: one person, everybody who came from a single QR code, everybody who kept your card, or everybody holding your wallet pass. Write a title and a line, look at it on the phone preview, and send it. The screen tells you how many people it will reach and how many credits you have.

  • Only people who said yes receive anything
  • One credit for each message to each person
  • A list of what you sent and how many it reached
Messages that go by themselves, written in your name, off until you switch them on.

Messages that send themselves

Switch on the thank-you and every phone that keeps your card, or saves your wallet pass, is thanked once. The follow-up series writes three times to somebody who sent you their details from a phone that kept your card: straight away, two days later and a week later. Tick one box and the rest of the series stops when they write to you again.

  • A thank-you, sent once to each phone
  • A follow-up series of three messages
  • Nothing goes until you switch it on
A date, a holiday, a quiet spell: each one a message you write once.

Dates, holidays and quiet spells

Pick a date and a time and a message goes then. Switch on the holidays you celebrate and a greeting goes on each one. After thirty quiet days a short hello goes to the people you have not heard from, and another after sixty. When your number, job or company changes, a note saying so is written for you to send.

  • A message on a date you pick
  • A greeting on each holiday you switch on
  • Reminders to yourself about one person, which send that person nothing

Four steps

How to send your first notification

Step 01

Make your card and share it

People have to keep your card, or save your pass, before they can hear from you. Share your QR code and your link.

Step 02

Open Notify

In your dashboard, open Notify. You see how many people you can reach and how many credits you have.

Step 03

Choose who, and write it

Pick one person, a QR code, everybody who kept your card or everybody with your pass. Write a title and a line and check the preview.

Step 04

Send, then switch on the automations

Press Send. Then open Automations, read what each one would say in your name, change the words and switch on the ones you want.

Questions about notifications

Who can I send a notification to?

Anybody who kept your card on their phone and said yes to updates, and anybody who saved your wallet pass. People who only looked at your card, or wrote to you from a phone that did not keep it, cannot receive one.

How many notifications can I send?

Each message to each person uses one credit. Pro comes with twenty credits every month, and the month's unused ones make way for the next month's; a credit pack adds more that never expire. A person hears from you at most once a day, or twice while you hold pack credits.

Do automations send anything without me?

Only the ones you switch on. Every automation is written in your name and waits, switched off, until you have read it, changed the words if you like, and switched it on.

Can I stop the follow-up series?

Yes. Switch it off at any time, and tick the box that stops the rest of the series for anybody who writes to you again.

What does a notification look like?

A title and a line or two, on the lock screen and in the phone's list of notifications, the same as a message from any other app. Tapping it opens your card.

Do I need a wallet pass as well?

No. The card on the home screen receives notifications on its own. A wallet pass is a second place your messages can reach, for people who keep their cards in the wallet.

Your turn

Say something to the people who kept your card

Share your card, switch on the thank-you and the follow-up series, and write whenever you have something worth saying.
