The printer asked for bleed. What is that?

Three extra millimetres of artwork past the line where the card is cut. The guillotine drifts by a fraction of a millimetre, and without bleed that drift leaves a white sliver down one edge. The safe area is the mirror of it: keep words and logos three millimetres inside the cut line and nothing important is ever trimmed off. Both are drawn for you on the canvas.
