Keeping your card out of Google, or letting it in

All plans

Google and other search engines may list your card to begin with; turn the indexing switch off in Settings to keep your card out of search results.

In your dashboard: Settings > Privacy & Permissions > Google Search Engine Indexing

Last updated

Your card can show up in search results, so people who look for you can find it. The switch that allows this is on to begin with, and it is yours to turn off. Only a card that is published and not paused can be listed.

Keeping your card out of search results

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Under Privacy & Permissions, turn off Google Search Engine Indexing.

  3. Press Save Privacy Settings.

Your card's page then asks search engines not to list it, and we let them know it has changed. They drop it the next time they look at it; when that happens is up to them.

The same setting is on the Share & QR screen, on its Settings tab, as Search Engine Indexing, saved with Save Settings. Both do exactly the same.

On a company account, the switch covers every member on Locked card at once, and a new member's card starts the way the switch is set. A member on Full dashboard has their own switch in their Settings. The company's own page is never listed.

Letting it back in

Turn the switch back on and save. We let search engines know your card may be listed again; when they list it is up to them.

Take care

Turning the switch off does not lock your card. It stays public: anyone with your link or your QR code can still open it. To take it off the web for a while, pause it. See Pausing your card for a while.
