Business card analytics

Every view, save, tap and scan of your card, counted and laid out so you can see what works.

Business card analytics show what happens after you hand your card out: how many people opened it, kept it on their phone, saved your contact or tapped a button, which QR code brought them, and where in the world they were.

The month at a glance, against the month before it.
In plain words

What are digital business card analytics?

Every card counts what happens to it: each view, each time somebody keeps it on their home screen or says yes to updates, each Save contact, each tap on a button, each scan of each QR code and each reply through the form. Your Analytics screen lays those counts out by day, over seven, thirty or ninety days, or a year.

When your card opens, the view is counted with the country it came from, and the card keeps one line about the device it was opened on: the kind of phone, the browser's own description, the page it came from and when it was last opened. That happens for every visitor, and the device line is kept while your card exists. No visitor's IP address is ever kept.

A visit can also be kept as a record of its own, with the city, the link it came through, the pages opened and the hour. Visitors in Europe, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and any visitor whose country cannot be told, are asked first with a one-line bar on your card, and that record is kept only once they press Allow. Each record is kept for 120 days.

The numbers are there to answer ordinary questions. Did the stand at the fair do better than the box of printed cards? Do people save your contact, or only look? Which day of the week are you looked up most? The answers are on one screen, and the daily figures download as a spreadsheet.

What is counted

Counting happens on your card itself, whichever way a person reached it. The one thing ever asked of a visitor is the one-line bar, and only where it is needed.

Every visitor

  • Views, with the country
  • Cards kept on a phone
  • Yes to updates
  • Save contact
  • Taps on each button
  • Scans of each QR code
  • Replies through the form
  • One line about the device

The record of a visit

  • The city
  • The link it came through
  • The pages opened
  • The hour and the day
What it does for you

What analytics do for you

How many people make each step, from a view to their details in your list.

From a view to their details in your list

The funnel follows people from seeing your card to engaging with it, tapping a link, saving your contact, adding your wallet pass and sending you their details, and shows how many make each step. Four tiles at the top compare the window you chose with the one before it.

  • Seven, thirty or ninety days, or a year
  • Each step with the share that made it
  • A rise or a fall against the window before
Where your visitors are, what they hold, and when they look.

Where they came from

Each tracked link and QR code has a row of its own with how often it was used and the share of views that turned into a tap. Countries and cities, phones and computers, and the ways people reached your card are listed beside them.

  • Every link and QR code on its own row
  • Countries and cities, with their flags
  • Phones, tablets and computers

When they look

A grid of days and hours, in your own time zone, shows when your card is opened most. The chart under the tiles shows views, new devices and scans day by day; point at a day to read its numbers.

Four steps

How to read your card's numbers

Step 01

Give each place its own link

Make a QR code or a link for each place you hand your card out, so each one is counted on its own.

Step 02

Open Analytics

In your dashboard, open Analytics and pick seven, thirty or ninety days, or a year.

Step 03

Follow the funnel

See how many of the people who opened your card went on to tap, save your contact, keep it on their phone or write to you.

Step 04

Compare your links

Read each link's row to see which place works best, and download the daily figures if you want them in a spreadsheet.

Questions about card analytics

What counts as a view?

Each time your card is opened: from a link, a QR code, a search, or the card kept on a phone's home screen.

Can I see who looked at my card?

You see how many people did, where from and on what kind of device, but not who they are, unless they send you their details through the form on your card. Every one of those is kept, and with Pro you read them in your People list.

Why do some visits show no city?

Visitors in Europe, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first. Until they press Allow, the record that carries the city is not kept. Their view is still counted with its country, and the card still keeps its one line about their device.

How far back can I look?

The counts go back a year on the screen, and the line about each device stays while your card exists. The record of each visit, with its city and the link it came through, is kept for 120 days.

Which plan includes analytics?

Analytics is part of Pro. On the free plan the screen is shown greyed, so you can see what it holds before you choose.

Your turn

See what your card is doing

Share your card with a link for each place, then open Analytics and let the numbers tell you which place works.
