Tracked links and QR codes for your card
A code for each place you hand your card out, so you can see which ones people really use.
A tracked link is a short address that opens your business card and counts every visit, and each one comes with its own QR code. Make one for printed cards, one for your email signature and one for an event, and see which gets used.
What are tracked links and QR codes?
A tracked link is a short link on your own address, one for each place your card is handed out. Every link has a name you give it, a purpose - a printed card, an email signature, a social profile, an event, your wallet pass or anything else - and its own QR code, which downloads as a picture for a screen or as a sharp file for print.
When somebody opens the link or scans the code, the visit is counted against that link before they reach your business card. Your Links & QR screen shows what each link is doing, so a box of printed cards and a stand at a fair can be told apart.
A link does not have to open your card. It can save your contact straight to their phone, open your card with a WhatsApp chat ready, or go to your website or any address you choose, and you can change where a link goes later without reprinting its code. The one link that always opens your card is your card's own, because it is your card's address.
Where to put your codes
Every code opens with the phone's own camera, and every short link works wherever a link can be pasted. There is nothing to install.
Printed
- Paper cards
- Flyers and posters
- A badge or a stand
On a screen
- Your email signature
- A video call background
- Your social profiles
- Your wallet pass
What tracked links do for you
A code for every place
Name each link after the place it goes, choose its purpose and download its QR code, as a picture for a screen or as a file for print. Copy the short link for anywhere a code cannot go, such as a message or a profile.
- A name and a purpose for each link
- The QR code as a picture or as a file for print
- A short link to copy and paste
See which ones work
Every scan and every tap is counted against the link it came through, so the Links & QR screen shows which places bring people to your card. Analytics lays the same counts out day by day, beside the share of visits that turned into a tap.
- A count for each link
- Side by side, so the best place is plain to see
- The same links in Analytics, day by day
Point it where you want
A link can open your card, save your contact in one tap, open your card with a WhatsApp chat ready, or go to your website or any address you choose. Change its destination later and the code you already printed goes to the new place.
- Your card, your contact, or a WhatsApp chat
- Your website, or any address you choose
- A new destination without reprinting
One QR code, or one for every place
What changes when each place gets a code of its own.
| One code everywhere | A code for each place | |
|---|---|---|
| Knowing what works | One total for everything | A count for each place |
| Changing where it goes | Everything changes at once | Each link on its own |
| After an event | Nothing tells the visitors apart | The event's own code can start a follow-up |
| Where it sends people | Your card | Your card, your contact, a chat or a website |
| On the free plan | Your card's own code | Part of Pro, as many as you need |
How to make a tracked QR code
Open Links & QR
In your dashboard, open Links & QR. Your card's own code is already there.
Name it and choose its purpose
Give the new link a name, such as the place it will go, and choose its purpose from the list.
Choose where it goes
Your card, your contact, your card with WhatsApp open, your website, or an address you choose.
Download the code and use it
Download the QR code for print or for a screen, or copy the short link, and watch its count grow.
Where your codes lead
Every code opens your card, and your card does the rest.
The digital card
Your card on its own address, kept on their home screen and sending the notifications you write.
The digital card→Card analytics
Views by day, country and device, and every tap, scan and contact save.
Card analytics→Lead capture
A form on your card for their name and number, and a list of everybody who wrote.
Lead capture→Printed and NFC cards
Paper cards from your own design, and two NFC cards whose chip opens your digital card.
Printed and NFC cards→Email signatures
Your card at the bottom of every email you send, with a code that opens it.
Email signatures→Virtual backgrounds
Your card and QR code behind you on Zoom and Google Meet calls.
Virtual backgrounds→NFC business card
A card a phone can tap, with your card's address written on its chip.
NFC business card→Questions about tracked links and QR codes
How many tracked links can I make?
The free plan comes with one: your card's own QR code. Pro lets you make as many as you need, each with its own code and its own count.
Can I change where a printed code goes?
Yes, for every link but your card's own. Change the destination on the Links & QR screen and the code you already printed follows it.
What does the event purpose do?
A link made for an event marks the people who came through it, and the event follow-up can send one note the next morning to the phones that kept your card from that code.
Do people need an app to scan the code?
No. The phone's own camera opens it, and the short link opens in any browser.
Does my email signature have a code too?
Yes. Your email signature and your video call background carry a code that opens your card, and their scans are counted on your Links & QR screen.
Give every place its own code
Make a link for each place your card goes, print or paste its code, and see which one works.
