Emailing everyone registered, from your own email account
Pro + EventsThe Broadcast tab emails the people registered for an event from your own Gmail or other email account, once our team has switched that on for your account and a test email has gone through.
In your dashboard: Your Card > Events > Email for broadcasts
Last updated
An email to the people registered for one of your events goes out from your own email account - a Gmail address or another email account of yours - so it comes from you and replies come straight back to you. The emails about an order, a ticket or a booking still come from us.
Before you can send
Sending from your own account is switched on by our team, account by account. Until then the Email for broadcasts screen is shown greyed with a line saying so, on every plan. Ask us from Help.
Setting up your email account
Open Events and press Email for broadcasts.
For Gmail, type Your Gmail address and paste an App password - not your usual Google password. To make one, open your Google Account, go to Security, switch on 2-Step Verification, then open App passwords. Emails a day, at most is your own daily limit, up to Gmail's 500 - leave it as it is to send as many as Gmail allows.
For another email account, fill in the sending details your provider gives you: the name to connect to, the Port and the Security, then the User name, the Password and the From address. Emails a day, at most is your provider's own daily limit; it cannot be set above the most our team lets one account send in a day, which the screen shows beside it.
If you like, type a From name (optional), then press Save.
Press Send a test email. It goes to your own sign-in address, through your account, and the screen then says whether it went through - and if it did not, why. Your settings are ready once it has gone through. The screen also says how many test emails you can send in an hour; once you reach that, the button rests for an hour or two, and pressing it while it rests makes the wait longer.
We keep your user name and password locked and never show them again: the screen shows only which kind of account it is and the end of your From address. Replace changes the settings and asks for the user name and password again, and Remove deletes them.
Sending
On the event's Broadcast tab, choose Who it goes to, write the email and press Send it once you have checked how many people it goes to. It starts within a few minutes and reaches each person once, and the tab shows how far it has gone, such as "Sending - 340 of 1,000 sent." You can send 5 a day about one event. One email can go to as many people as our team lets one email go to; if the group is larger, the screen says the most.
A Gmail account sends about 500 emails a day, and no account sends more in a day than our team allows, so a longer list waits for the rest, and the tab says from when they go out. If your email account refuses the emails, for example because the password changed, the sending stops and we email you; Send the rest carries on once a new test email has gone through. Stop sending stops it at any time.
Emailing your attendees comes with the Events add-on, which is $0.99 a month on top of Pro.
