Choosing your card's address

When you sign up: the Your address box
Last updated
Your card's address is the name you choose followed by .visitingcards.store, such as sara-khan.visitingcards.store. Anyone who types it, taps it or scans your QR code opens your card, and it is the address that goes on your printed cards.
You choose it in Your address on the sign-up form. As you type your name, the box suggests an address from it; you can change it. It then tells you Available, or Taken. Try another address.
What an address can be
- 3 to 32 characters.
- Small letters, numbers and dashes only. Capital letters become small ones, and other characters are left out as you type.
- It cannot start or end with a dash.
- Some words are kept for the site itself, such as help or login: the box says That address is reserved. Try another.
- An address that contains a well-known brand name is refused: That address contains a brand name we cannot host. Try another.
Can I change it later?
A card on its own keeps its address: it is on your QR codes and on anything you have printed, so your dashboard does not change it. If you really need a different one, write to us from Help and we will talk it through. On a company's team, the owner can change the team's address once, after the seats are paid for. See Your card's address.
For a company
A company chooses its company's address, and each person's card sits under it, such as yourcompany.visitingcards.store/their-name. See Who decides a seat's address?.
