Who decides a seat's address?
Company accountsYou do: type it in Their address when you make the seat, or leave it blank and we make one from the name; you can give the seat a new address later, and the old one keeps working.
In your dashboard: Team > Invite New Team Member > Their address > the seat's page, Give this seat a new address
Last updated
The company's owner or admin decides it, in Their address on the Invite New Team Member form. It is the part after your company's address: type ali and the card lives at yourcompany.visitingcards.store/ali (an example).
- Use 3 to 32 lowercase letters, numbers and dashes.
- Leave it blank and we make one from the person's name.
- No two seats on your team can share an address, and a few words the site uses for itself are kept back.
Giving a seat a new address
Open Team and open the seat.
Press Give this seat a new address.
Type The new address and press Change the address.
- The address it had keeps working and sends everyone to the new one, so printed cards, QR codes and cards saved on phones keep working and show what is on the seat now.
- Nobody else on your team can take the old address while the seat is open.
- If you close the seat, its address and its old addresses are free again at once.
- If somebody holds the seat, we email them the new address.
What you can change later is the name on your list: open the seat, type it in The name on the list and press Save the name. The person in the seat can change what their card says. See Editing what a seat's card says.
When a seat changes hands, you can give it the new person's name in the same step. See When somebody leaves: handing a seat on.
