Closing a seat (it's final)
Company accountsClose a seat you no longer need: its page and its address stop at once, the person loses it, and everyone who wrote in is kept; a closed seat cannot be opened again.
In your dashboard: Team > Open beside a seat > Close this seat
Last updated
Closing is final. If somebody is taking the person's place, hand the seat on instead, so the address and the printed QR codes keep working. See When somebody leaves: handing a seat on.
Open Team and press Close beside the seat, or open the seat and find Close this seat.
Press Close the seat, then Yes, close it.
What happens
- The seat's page stops at once, and printed cards and QR codes with its address stop working - until another seat is given that address.
- The person loses it from their login, and their wallet card stops updating.
- Their WhatsApp number is signed out, and any messages still waiting to go from it are cancelled.
- Everyone who wrote in is kept and stays in your downloads. See Downloading everyone who wrote to your team.
Afterwards
The seat stays on your list, marked Closed, and cannot be handed on or opened again. Its address, and any old address it had, is free again at once, so a new seat can take it. If another seat is given that address later, printed cards and QR codes with it open that seat's card.
A closed seat no longer counts as in use, so you can add a new person at any free address, including this one, within the seats you pay for, or bring the number of seats down. See Adding or removing seats.
