Inviting somebody to a seat
Company accountsOn Team, fill in Invite New Team Member with the person's name, their email and their address, and press Send Invite; they get a link to choose a password and take the card.
In your dashboard: Team > Invite New Team Member
Last updated
Open Team and press Invite Member at the top, or scroll to Invite New Team Member.
Type the person's Full Name. It is what you call the seat inside your dashboard.
Type their Corporate Email. Leave it out and the seat is made and waits until you are ready to invite them.
Choose Their address, the part after your company's address. Leave it blank and we make one from their name. See Who decides a seat's address?.
Press Send Invite.
With an email, the screen says Invitation sent. The link works once and expires in 7 days. The person gets an email with a link to choose a password and take their card. See Accepting your invitation and setting a password.
The seat's card is live at its address from the moment it is made, so a code printed on day one never opens an empty page. You can fill in what it says before the person arrives. See Editing what a seat's card says.
What the list shows
- Invite Sent: the email went, and the person has not taken the seat yet.
- Invite ready - copy the link: the invitation is ready but the email did not go. Copy the link and send it yourself. See Taking an invitation back, or copying the link.
- Not invited yet: a seat with nobody asked to sit in it.
- Active Card: the person has taken the seat.
When you cannot add anybody
You can add as many people as the seats you have paid for. When every seat is in use, the form is greyed and says so: buy more seats, or hand a seat on. See Adding or removing seats and When somebody leaves: handing a seat on.
An email address that already has a login can take a seat too: on the invitation page the person signs in with that login and presses Take my seat, and the seat is added to it. One login can hold its own card and seats on teams. If you open the invitation yourself while signed in, the page says the link is for them and offers Copy the link.
