Get started

Make an account, pick your address, and put your first card in front of somebody.

What do I actually get?#

A card of your own on the web, at your own address, that anybody can open on a phone with no app to install. It carries your name, your photo, your buttons (call, WhatsApp, email, directions) and as many sections as you want to add. People can save it to their home screen, save you as a contact, and write to you through a form. You also get a free print-ready design of the same card, tracked links and QR codes, and the numbers that say how often it is opened.

How do I sign up?#

Open the front page and press Create your free card. You give your name, your email, a password and the address you want. We send you a confirmation email; open it and press Continue. That is the whole of it - there is no card to enter and nothing to approve.

Why do I have to confirm my email?#

Publishing a card puts a page on the open web under our name, so we ask for one proof that the address is yours before that happens. Until the email is confirmed you can build and save your card as much as you like; only the Publish button waits. The link we send goes to a page with a single Continue button on it, so a mail scanner opening the link in the background cannot spend it before you do.

How do I choose my address, and can I change it later?#

Your card lives at yourname.visitingcards.store. Pick it during sign-up: small letters, numbers and hyphens, and the box tells you straight away whether it is taken. Some words are reserved because the platform itself uses them. A card on its own keeps its address afterwards, because every QR code, printed card and saved link points at it; write to us if you truly need it moved and we will talk it through. On a company's team, once the seats are paid for, the team's owner can change the team's address once, under Your team's address in Settings or on Team - the old address keeps working and sends everyone to the new one.

I made a card in the free maker. Does it come with me?#

Yes. If you press Make it digital in the maker, what you typed and the design you picked are carried into sign-up, and your first card and your first print design are already filled in when you arrive. Nothing is lost on the way.

Where does it take me after I sign in?#

Until your card is published, straight to the card builder, because that is the thing worth doing first. After it is published you land on Home, which shows your views, saves, leads and live wallet passes, the setup progress list, and your QR code ready to show somebody.

How do I build the card?#

My Card is a set of tabs: Settings and Look, Designs and Themes, Profile, Contact, Socials, Showcase, Business, Extras, Buttons, Sections and All Panels. Your real card is drawn in a phone beside them and changes as you type. The draft saves itself about a second after you stop typing, so there is nothing to remember.

There are a lot of fields. Is there a fast way to find one?#

Yes. Under Settings and Look, Additional Fields and Modules has a Browse all fields button that opens the field organiser: a search box over every field the card has, grouped, with a mark on the ones you are already using. Most fields can be typed straight into the organiser; the ones that need a whole panel (pictures, the brand colour, the design, a structured block) have an Open Detailed Panel button instead.

How do I publish it?#

Press Publish changes on the card builder. Until you do, the card is a private draft and your address answers nothing. Publishing copies the draft to the live card in one step, refreshes the public page, and nudges any wallet passes people are holding. You can keep editing afterwards; nothing is live until you publish again.

What is the quickest way to hand my card to somebody?#

Home has Scan and Share with your QR code drawn ready to hold up, Copy Card Link, and More Sharing Options for email, WhatsApp or downloading the QR as a picture. The Cards screen has the same things on its Share tab, with counters beside them.

Can people keep my card on their phone?#

That is the point of it. The card carries a Save this card to your phone block with the exact steps for the phone the visitor is holding, and on Android an Add to home screen button of our own. Once it is on the home screen it opens like an app, and you can send that person a notification later.

What is the setup progress list on Home?#

Seven steps that tick themselves off as you do them: your name and title, your picture or logo, your phone number and email address, your design, pinning a place for your wallet pass, making a virtual background, and saving an email signature. It is measured from your real rows, so a step never ticks until the thing exists.

Do I need to pay to try any of this?#

No. The free plan gives you a card with your name, your email and your phone number in the colours you choose, its QR code and Save contact button, a form where people can leave you a message or their details (every one is kept, and you read them on People with Pro), the print-ready files, your email signatures and your meeting backgrounds. Everything else is part of Pro. It is all still on your screens, greyed and marked Pro feature, with an Upgrade button to Billing, so you can see what it does before you buy it - see Plans and billing.

How do I get back in later?#

Open www.visitingcards.store/login and sign in with your email and password, or with Google. You land in your own dashboard. If you have forgotten the password there is a Forgot your password link on the same screen.

Can I have more than one card?#

One card comes with an account today. If you need a card each for several people, that is a team: open Team from the sidebar, buy the seats, then invite your people, and each person gets their own address under yours. A team starts when its seats are paid for. See Team and seats.
