Does a location alert spend a credit?
Pro + Wallet + LocationNo: the phone raises a location alert by itself near your place, so it is not a message and spends none of your credits.

No. A location alert is not a message we send. The phone that holds your pass raises it by itself when it is near the place, so nothing is counted and no credit is spent.
What you pay for is the location add-on itself. Your monthly credits and credit packs are only for messages. See Getting a location add-on and Do pass messages cost credits?.
That is also why the Location Alert Views tile says it is not measured: nobody is told when an alert shows.
