What "Save contact" gives people

All plans

Save contact hands a visitor a contact file with your details, so they can add you to their phone's contacts in one tap.

On your card: the Save contact button

Last updated

When a visitor taps Save contact on your card, their phone gets a contact file, and most phones then offer to add you to their contacts. The button sits beside your name, or is your big button if you chose it. It shows when your card has a phone number or an email address.

What the file carries

  • your name, with your prefix, suffix and nickname;
  • your company and department, your job title and your accreditations;
  • every phone number, marked as mobile, work, home or fax from its label, and your WhatsApp number;
  • every email address and website, and your card's own address;
  • your own links, each with its label, and your addresses;
  • your social links;
  • your headline (or, without one, your bio) as a note, your skills, your time zone and your public key;
  • your birthday, when it is written as year-month-day;
  • your photo, carried inside the file when it is a small JPEG or PNG and otherwise as a link to it, and a link to your logo.

On a free card

A free card's file carries your name, your phone numbers, your email addresses and your card's address, and no picture.

Turning it off

In Settings, Allow One-Tap Contact Saving turns the button on or off. When it is off, the button is not on your card and the file cannot be downloaded.

Each tap on it is counted with the other taps in your analytics. See Which buttons and links people tap.
