Why does a long link on my card show as a short one?
All plansA long address you paste into your card, signature or pass is shown as a short link on your own address, its clicks are counted on Links & QR, and Show the full address switches it back.
In your dashboard: Your Card > My Card > Show the full address, in the note under the field
Last updated
When you paste a long address into your card, a seat's card, your email signature or your wallet pass, we show it as a short link on your own card's address: your address, then /l/ and a short code. The note under the field says so.
- On your card, the short link is made when you publish. On the other screens, it is made when you save.
- The field keeps the long address, so you can still read and change it.
- Every click is counted on Links & QR, like your other tracked links. A short link cannot be deleted there: to stop it, show the full address instead.
- The contact file people save, and what search engines read, keep the full address.
- An address is shortened only when it is long (over 60 characters) or carries tracking codes. Our own addresses, email and phone links, WhatsApp links and short Google Maps links are never shortened.
Show the full address instead
Find the note under the field that holds the address.
Tick Show the full address. Your card shows the address as you typed it, and its clicks are no longer counted.
