Choosing a Channel / Purpose
ProChannel / Purpose is a label for where a link lives, such as a printed card or an event; it groups your numbers and changes nothing about where the link goes.

When you make a link on Links & QR, Channel / Purpose offers seven choices. It starts on Printed card.
- The card itself: a link you hand out in place of your card's address.
- Printed card: a code on printed cards or flyers.
- Email signature: a link in an email signature.
- Social profile: the link in a social profile or bio.
- An event: a stand, a badge or a talk.
- Wallet card: a link you put on or beside your wallet pass.
- Something else: anything else.
The purpose shows as a small label beside the link's name on Links & QR. On Analytics, Acquisition Channels adds up scans by purpose: Printed card and An event count as Dynamic QR Code, Wallet card as Apple & Google Wallet Pass, and Email signature as Email Signature Links. The others are listed by their own names. See Where your visitors came from.
Some links are made for you with Pro. The Backgrounds screen makes one called Virtual background, with Something else, the first time you open it on Pro. The Signatures screen makes one called Email signature, with the purpose Email signature, for a signature you first save on Pro. On the free plan both use your card's own link instead, and a signature first saved on the free plan keeps that link after you move to Pro.
A link's purpose cannot be changed once the link is made.
