Your signature is made from your card: your name, job title, company, phone, email, website, photo, logo and a QR code that opens your card. You do not type them again here. To change any of them, change your card in My Card.
On the free plan you can change only your name, email and phone on your card, so those are what a free signature carries, with the QR code and the link to your card. The photo, logo, job title, company, website and social links come with Pro.
Pro is $0.99 a month.
Open Signatures in the sidebar. The Email Signatures tab is your own signature.
Under Signature Layout Style, choose one of the five layouts: horizontal, modern, card badge, minimal or compact.
Under Signature Elements, tick what to show: Profile Photo, Company Logo, Dynamic Card QR Code, Social Media Links, Call-to-Action (CTA) Button, Marketing Campaign Banner and Confidentiality / Disclaimer.
Fill in the boxes that open for the button, the banner or the notice (see below).
Check it in Email Client Live Preview. Its Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail tabs show it in the lettering each of them uses.
Press Copy Signature for Email and paste it into your email program. See Add your signature to Gmail, Add your signature to Outlook or Add your signature to Apple Mail.
Your choices save themselves as you go: the line under the screen's heading reads Not saved yet while you change things, then Saving, then Saved. If it says Not saved, your last change did not keep; make it again. If you have a company card, parts your company has chosen show Set by your company.
The QR code and the counted link to your card are added the first time your signature saves. If you press a copy button before that, it saves first and copies the signature with its QR code.
The five layouts
- horizontal: everything, with your photo in a circle and the QR code on the right. Only horizontal and modern show your website and your social links.
- modern: the same as horizontal, with your photo in a rounded square.
- card badge: a small card on a light background with your photo and logo, your details, a link to your card, the button and the QR code. The words under its code read Scan to open my card.
- minimal: a line of your brand colour, your name, title, company, phone, email and a link to your card. No pictures, QR code, button or banner.
- compact: two short lines with a small round photo, your name, title, company, phone and a link to your card. No QR code, logo, email, button, banner or notice.
The button, the banner and the notice
- Customize CTA Button: the Button Text, up to 60 characters, and a Target URL. Leave the address empty and the button opens your card.
- Campaign Banner Settings: a Banner Image (PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 5 MB), its Alt text and a Destination Link. The banner sits under your signature and above the notice; with no link it opens your card.
- Disclaimer Text: a confidentiality notice, already written, which you can change, up to 1,200 characters.
The button and the banner show in the horizontal, modern and card badge layouts.
On a company card, a team member can upload a banner picture for their own signature too, unless the company has locked the banner. A team member can also tick Marketing Campaign Banner to carry the company's campaign banner. See Running a banner in everyone's signature.
The link and the QR code
The link to your card and the QR code in your signature are a tracked link, so every opening is counted. A signature you first save on Pro gets a link of its own, called Email signature, on Links & QR. A signature first saved on the free plan uses your card's own link, and keeps it after you move to Pro. See What is a tracked link?.
Your email program keeps a copy of your signature. After you change your card, copy your signature again and paste it over the old one: the words and pictures in the old copy do not change by themselves. Its QR code and its link keep working.
