Where a link can send people

Pro

A link can open your card, hand over your contact file at once, or go to a web address you type, such as your website.

In your dashboard: People > Links & QR > Generate Tracked QR Code > Where should it go?

Last updated

You choose where a link goes in Where should it go? when you make it. It starts on My card.

  • My card: opens your card. Most links should go here.
  • Save my contact: hands over your contact file straight away, and most phones then offer to add you to their contacts. Your card does not open.
  • My card, WhatsApp open: opens your card, exactly as My card does. WhatsApp does not open by itself; people tap the WhatsApp button on your card.
  • My website: goes to the address you type in Web address. It is not taken from your card, so type your website's address there.
  • A web address I choose: goes to any address you type in Web address.

The first three follow your card: whatever you change on your card, they show the latest. The last two always go to the address you typed. Each link's row on Links & QR shows where it goes, under its address.

Good to know

A link that does not open your card (Save my contact, My website and A web address I choose) counts only its scans: Devices and Wrote to you stay at 0, because your card never opened. See Seeing what each link is doing.

Take care

Save my contact works only while Allow One-Tap Contact Saving is on in Settings. Turn that off and a Save my contact code shows a page that says Not found. On a company account the company's own address has no contact file, so it always shows Not found. For anything you print, choose My card.

Take care

Where a link goes can be changed later with Change where it goes, and its QR code stays the same. See Changing where a printed code goes.
