Messages that send themselves: an overview

Pro

On the Automations tab of Notify you can switch on seven messages that send themselves, from a thank-you to holiday greetings, each costing one credit per person.

In your dashboard: People > Notify > the Automations tab > Automated Push Triggers

Last updated

  1. Open Notify from the sidebar.

  2. Choose the Automations tab.

Under Automated Push Triggers there is one row for each message that can send itself. Nothing there is on until you switch it on.

Opening one

Tap a row to open it. Each row shows what it says, what starts it, how long it waits, and a pill: Active, Paused or Waiting. A message on a date and the note about your changed details go once; after that their pill says what happened: Going out, Sent, Partly sent or Not sent, with a line giving the reason, such as not enough credits.

For the first three, you write the words yourself, tick Switched on and press Save. The other four come with their words already written, three ways of saying each one: you read them under What it says, tick the box and press Save. See Why an automation has more than one wording.

To stop one, untick the box and press Save. The thank-you and the follow-up series also have a Switch off button. Anyone part way through does not get the rest, even if you switch it on again later.

Switching one on, the first time or again later, starts from that moment. The thank-you, the follow-up series and the note after an event reach only the people who arrive after you switch them on: nobody who came while it was off is picked up.

What they cost

Each one costs one credit for every person it reaches, taken when it goes out, the same as a message you type. The same daily rule applies too. See How often can one person hear from me?.

They run only while your plan is active: while it has lapsed, nothing sends itself. Messages that send themselves are part of Pro, which is $0.99 a month.

Good to know

Remind me about somebody, lower on the same tab, sends nothing to anyone. It is a note to yourself. See Reminding yourself to follow somebody up.
