Scheduled sends, events and holiday greetings

Pro

Send one message on a date and time you pick, a note the morning after an event, or a greeting on the holidays you tick, all from the Automations tab.

In your dashboard: People > Notify > the Automations tab > A message on a date > Greetings at the holidays you pick

A message on a date

  1. Open Notify, then Automations, then A message on a date.

  2. Write the Title and the Message.

  3. In the date box, pick the date and the time. The box's name shows your account's time zone in brackets, and the time you pick is read in that zone. You set it in Settings; see Setting your time zone.

  4. Tick Switched on and press Save.

At that time it goes once to everyone who allowed notifications from your card, and then switches itself off. The row then says what happened: Going out while it is on its way, Sent, Partly sent when only some of the people got it, or Not sent, with the reason, such as not enough credits.

To send it once more after it has gone, open it, pick a time still to come, leave Switched on ticked and press Save. It goes once more at the new time. Untick Switched on first if you want to keep it for later without sending it. A time that has already passed is saved, but it is not switched on.

If it went out while you had the page open, saving that page does not send it again: the screen says it went out while you were editing. Save again with a new time to send it once more. To remove it altogether, press Delete this one.

After an event

After an event sends one note to each phone that got your card from a tracked link whose purpose is An event. It goes the next morning, 20 hours after that phone first opened your card, and names the event by your link's name.

Make a link for the event on Links & QR before the day, and put its QR code on your stand. Then tick Switched on here and press Save, before the event starts: phones that got your card before you switched it on are not included, and if you switch it off and on again, neither are phones that got it while it was off. See Choosing a Channel / Purpose.

The note reaches phones that have notifications from your card on, or your wallet pass.

Holiday greetings

  1. Open Greetings at the holidays you pick.

  2. Under Which days, tick the holidays you want. Each one shows its next date and where that date was taken from.

  3. Tick Switched on and press Save.

On each holiday you ticked, one greeting goes to everyone who allowed notifications from your card, and to people who hold your wallet pass without notifications on. The holidays offered today are Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Diwali, Christmas and UAE National Day. A holiday whose next date we do not hold cannot be ticked, because nothing is ever sent on a guessed date.

Take care

Each of these costs one credit per person, taken when it goes out. A message on a date and a holiday greeting need enough credits for everyone when the time comes: if you are short, they do not go out, and the row tells you it was not sent for want of credits. Check your credits before the day.
