How long do you keep things?
All plansVisit records and the words of emails, WhatsApp and support messages go after 120 days, emails to hello@ after 12 months; your card, contacts and counts stay until you delete your account.

Gone after 120 days
- The record of each visit to your card: where it came from, the pages seen. The daily counts behind Analytics stay.
- Our copies of the emails we send.
- The words of the messages you send us from Help. The fact that you wrote to us, and when, stays.
- With the WhatsApp add-on, the words of WhatsApp messages, of your follow-up reminders and of your messages to everyone who wrote, and the names in your WhatsApp address book. The numbers stay. A message, reminder or message to everyone that has not gone yet keeps its words until it goes or is stopped.
Gone sooner
- A file uploaded on the printed cards page that no order follows: 30 minutes after it was uploaded.
- The list of people an event organiser's own email went to: 30 days after the sending ends.
Gone after 12 months
- An email you send to hello@visitingcards.store: kept in our support inbox for 12 months, then deleted. Our replies to it are kept with it and deleted with it. Ask us and we delete it sooner.
The short links in our emails
- A short link in one of our emails (visitingcards.store/m/...) keeps working for 700 days, and a link that only stops our emails for five years. After that it opens our homepage.
Kept until you delete them or your account
- Your account, your card and your print designs.
- The people who wrote to you, and the one line about each phone or computer that opened your card. See How long are contacts kept?.
- Your links and QR codes, and the counts of views, taps and scans.
- Orders, event registrations and bookings made on your card: they are your business records.
- The notifications you sent, listed on Notify.
Kept after your account is gone
- Your tax invoices, because the law says a tax document must outlive the account it was issued to.
- Your printed card orders, with their delivery address.
- The record of the important things done on your account. See Is there a record of changes on my account?.
Why clear the words and keep the record? Removing the words takes out what is personal. Keeping the record keeps the fact that something happened, for example that you wrote to us on a certain day.
The email you give on the printed cards page, if you do not order, is removed 120 days after the last email we sent you. To have anything removed sooner, write to us: see Can I take my data with me?.
