When and how often am I charged?

Pro is $0.99 a month, but it is not charged each month. The charge on your card is for several months at once:

• Paying every 3 months, Pro is charged $2.97 every 3 months ($0.99/month).
• Paying for a year at once, Pro is charged $9.99 a year ($0.83/month).

On Billing, the big figure on each price is the monthly one, and the small line under it starts with Charged and says what is taken and how often.

Why every 3 months

At this price, charging a card every month would cost more in card fees than it is worth, and the price would have to go up. Charging every 3 months keeps the monthly figure where it is.

When the charge is taken

• The first charge is taken when you pay on the payment page, and your plan starts at once.
• After that, the plan renews on the same date each period, and the card on file is charged that day. Billing shows the date beside your plan: Renews on, followed by the day.
• We email you a reminder before each renewal: 3 days before when you pay every 3 months, 7 days before a yearly one. See When does my plan renew, and will you remind me?.

Add-ons and seats

An add-on or seats bought part-way through a period are charged at once for the rest of that period, and after that they renew with your plan, on the same bill. An add-on sold on a different schedule from your plan gets a charge of its own: the one-place location alert, sold by the month, and an add-on sold only every 3 months when you pay for Pro by the year.
