How the Stay in touch form works
All plansThe Stay in touch form lets a visitor send you their name and phone number, and more if you ask for it, and every one is kept; you read it on your People screen with Pro.
On your card: the Stay in touch form
Last updated
The Stay in touch form sits on your card. Instead of you writing down somebody's details, they type them in themselves and send them to you. It works on every plan, the free one included, and every message is kept; reading them on People is part of Pro.
What a visitor fills in
- Your name and Your phone or WhatsApp. These two are always asked for, and the send button stays grey until both are filled in.
- Your email, Company and Message, only if you have switched them on.
- Above the form, your own short note if you wrote one. Otherwise it asks them to share their details back with you, and says it is optional and the card is theirs either way.
They press Send My Info. The form then says Details Shared! and tells them you have received their contact info. A Privacy link beside the note tells visitors what happens to their details.
Where the details go
What they send is kept at once, and with Pro it appears on People, under Exchange Form Submissions, with the tracked link that brought them if they came through one. While your plan has lapsed, it is kept and appears when the plan is back; see What happens to my contacts if my plan ends?. The form sends details only from your published card.
An email address that does not look like one is left out; the rest of the entry is kept.
Switching it on or off
In My Card, on the Sections tab, use Show the form on my card. There you can also tick Ask for an email address, Ask for a company and Ask for a message, and write an Introductory note. On the free plan the same controls sit in their own Stay in touch form panel. See Setting up the Stay in touch form.
When your card shows a WhatsApp number, the thank-you after the form also offers a Say hi on WhatsApp button. See The "Say hi on WhatsApp" button after the form.
