Filling in your pass

You choose everything on the pass. Every part Apple and Google let you fill has a box on the Wallet screen, and nothing is filled in from your card.

The Apple tab

• Top strip: Your logo picture, The words beside your logo, Small pairs at the top right (a small label and a line, such as a member number) and The square picture.
• Name line: The big line, the largest words on the pass, and The small label above it.
• The small lines: up to three short lines under the big line, side by side. The row under them is kept for your messages.
• The code: what a scan opens. See The code on the pass.
• Who the phone says it is from: two lines Apple needs that are not printed on the pass itself. Who the phone says this pass is from is the name the lock screen shows, and One line iOS reads aloud is what a phone reads out and shows in its list of passes.
• Back of the pass: Rows on the back, for anything that does not fit the front. A phone number, an address or a link there can be tapped.
• Pictures: The icon, the little square a notification wears. With none, we draw your letters from Letters on the drawn icon.
• Colours: The face, The words and The little labels. Leave them empty and the pass is white with black words.
• Background picture: a picture behind the whole pass on iPhones running iOS 27 or later, and Dim the picture to make the words easier to read. Older iPhones show the plain pass.

The Google tab

• Top strip: Your logo picture, The title (the small line at the very top, and the name Google uses in its notifications) and The banner, a wide picture across the front.
• Name line: The big line under the title and The small line above the big line.
• The code: see The code on the pass.
• More rows: the rows people see when they open the pass, each a heading and what it says.
• Links: a list of links with their own words. A web address, a phone number written as tel:+971..., or an email written as mailto:you@example.com. And The button on the front, one address the pass's own button opens.
• Picture rows: photographs in the pass's details. Google draws the first one.
• Colours: The face, one colour, and Google picks the ink for it.
• Timing and Switches: see Dates on your pass: relevant, valid and expiry and Retiring a pass.

Pictures and extra rows

Press Upload beside a picture box to add one, or Change to replace it. Pictures must be PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 5 MB. Where a group can hold more than one row, press Add another to open the next.

Boxes marked as needed must be filled before the pass can be published. On Apple: Who the phone says this pass is from, the line iOS reads aloud and The big line. On Google: The title and The big line under the title. See Publishing your pass, and why it won't publish.

A few rows at the bottom of every pass are fixed and have no box: Issued by, Stopping this pass and Report this pass. They are the same on every pass.
