Buying seats and starting your team

A team is never free: it starts when its seats are paid for, and nothing on the Team screen works before that. You do not need Pro first. Your seats include Pro, so an account on the free plan has Pro for as long as its seats are paid for.

A seat is $0.79 a month, against $0.99 a month for Pro on your own: company cards are cheaper per person.

Buy your seats

1. Open Team in the menu. Until your team is paid for, the screen shows the Corporate package: what a seat costs a month, what a team gets, and a list of seats.

2. Under How many seats, choose a number. Each choice says what that many seats come to a month. Seats come in blocks of 5, with at least 5.

3. Press Buy seats and start your team.

4. Pay on the secure payment page that opens. It shows the exact amount before you pay.

If you already pay for Pro on the same schedule as seats, no payment page opens: the seats join the plan you already pay for, and your card on file is charged now for the rest of the period. The screen says so under the button.

When your card on file is charged at once, the screen says Your team is open. When you come back from the payment page, the screen thanks you and your team opens as soon as the payment is confirmed, usually within a minute: refresh the page in a moment. Who can buy

Only the account's owner can buy seats. Anyone else sees the button greyed, with the line Only the account's owner can buy seats. Ask them to open this screen.

What changes when you pay

Your account becomes your team account, with the same sign-in. Your own address then becomes your company page instead of your card, drawn from the card you have now, and that card also becomes the look every seat wears. Nothing you have made is deleted.
